Bay of Islands

Hi,
Arrived here yesterday and took a boat trip this morning around some of the islands. It's the spot where Cook first landed.
We sailed through the hole in rock , weather has changed with storms for later tonight.

Rotoura

We had a lovely drive here yesterday through some spectacular scenery.
We stopped at some spectactular waterfalls but the weather has gone off a bit & it was very drizzly - We couldn't see the volcano for cloud.
We went to the thermal geysers & mud pools this morning at the mauori arts & crafts centre where we had a guided tour. The carvings were fantastic.
Tomorrow we are off to Bay of Islands. Dad has booked a flight up & drive along the sands but not sure if I'll go with him depends!
love mum & dad
Are you moving into Dene Hollow R/K ? we don't charge much

Christchurch again!

Now back here.

Nice run yesterday past some super scenery again.

Just had a lazy day today as we have a really early start tomorrow before the ferry to North Island
The girl behind the desk has helped us to put this one on but an added complicacation is that it seems as if Andy's is the only camera we can download from & that doesn't have best pictures

Not that any of me would be impressive - I have a large purple bruise on my chin due to an unfortunate conection with the windscreen of the jet boat.

Queenstown

We've read the coments first this time! Glad house sale is progressing & that Ofsted ok. We haven't had any text messages so don't know where they've gone.
Long journey here but worth it. Yesterday we were up at 5.30 to travel to Milford Sound. We had a cruise through the fiord & dolphins swam along side the boat!.
This morning we were on a jet boat up the Shotover River by 9 - We'll need another holiday to get over this!. Then had a walk through the gardens. The colours are lovely as it's early Autumn. Dad about to take a gondola to the top of the mountain but think I'll pass on that remembering France!
Just realised that forgot to mention that the next morning at Fox Glacier we took a helicopter ride over the glaciers & landed on Fox where we walked on a glacier! Got the photo to prove it!
Figured out how to attach photos but no working reader at this hotel so will try later.
Back to Christchurch tomorrow & then over to North Island the day after.
Dad says please can you also send results for Ofsprey rugby as well- he's found a friend!

Fox Glacier

Change of plan we are in fox glacier tonight & will be moving to Queenstown tomorrow.
The weather wasn't good enough for a helicopter ride today at the moment we are going at 7.40 in the morning if the weather is ok.
It'sbeen a long day today we left the hotel at 8 this morning and drove right across the island from the west coast to the east arriving here at 5.30 tonight.
We stopped several times & have walked up to the edge of the glacier which is apparently one of the few which is actually advancing, and quite quickly!
Your elderly decreipt parents (we read your coments Rick) will try to put photos on when we can figure it out - you are all a bit to far away to phone & ask even if mobiles do work!

Christchurch

We've been on a punt down the River Avon this afternoon. We left the hotel at ( this morning & got back at 4.45 after seeing the sights here. An interesting day! I enjoyed the craft centre & even Dad wasn't bored. The botanical gardens were good too-thanks Gill!Off to Queenstown tomorrow & helicopter ride.

Countdown to go

Well we're packed- two bags each on the limit of 20kg-just hope our scales are weighing heavy.
We've checked the weather & it's in the upper 80's in Singapore compared to our 51 so expect we'll be a bit warmer.
Hopefully next comment will be in Singapore if we can cope with technology- abit far away to ring for advice on how to work it!!!! Dad planning on singapore slings so I might not see him again

snowy sunday

It's very quiet & empty here now everyone has gone. It's also still snowing & we've a lot to do to prepare but this time next week we should be sitting by the pool in Singapore- oh no we won't because we've just looked at the clock & we won't be sitting by a pool at 2 o'clock in the morning we'll be tucked up in bed.
